• Heads!

I was looking throught all the different places i know that sell heads for our cars: Abbot, SSMS, Intense, and ZZP. Anyways i was looking through what everyone includes and what has the best flow and so on, and by far supersix is the cheapest. The offer the heads for 750 and that is wtih the Valvesprings and retainers...most guys charge atLEAST 150 200 for that. So esentually that would be like getting the heads for like 550. Why are they so cheap, or why are the others so expensive. Is there a reason why i should fork out the extra cash to go with one of the other brands when all i am really doing is looking ot get some more out of the car.
(don't comment on my set up, i know what i should get before heads okay, i am not a newb...just answer the question please, i have my reasons.)

For an extra hundred bucks or so, you get ALOT more head from Abbott (that sounded bad). For one, Tom at SSM refuses to do a "stage 2" head for the 3.8L guys. He said for years that the tuning wasn't available to take advantage of bigger valves and such...not tuning is here. Now he says the amrket isn't there, but for an extra $400 he'll put bigger valves in and do a better valve job.

His response to a post I amde on his forum was COMPLETELY rude and uncalled for. I hope because of that he never sells another set of 3.8L GM heads. He then deleted my rebuttle, edited his response to my post, and pretended to be a nice guy.

Abbott not only drives an F-body with the 3.8L, but he has researched and made a great head (well, ported one to make it throw-down anyway)! He is not a Ford guy trying to make a buck off work he did 3 years ago, he is still making his products better.

ABBOTT for president!

If I can talk one person out of spending their hard earned money with SSM, it'll all be worth it! Shoot Lance an e-mail, he's a nice guy and has always been willing to talk details with me even though I'm not ready to buy.

yup, good people over there. also look into the extra work they can do for you, you might find something else you want them to do to the head.
