  • Need advice...on flywheel to driveshaft mounting...

Ok, heres the scoop. I went from an auto to manual. I only have 5 of the 8 required bolts. I have all of my auto bolts. The only diffrence is that the auto bolts dont bite as much. The bots are a weird thread, so i have to go through GM. My question is...would it be ok\safe for me to use 5 of the normal bolts, and use 3 of tha auto bolts, that do bite, but not enough. I dont know, throw some industral strength loctite on it...or should i just do the hardest thing ever and wait till next week...Please let me know. Thanks in advance.

btw, i put it in advanced tech, because i think this isnt a general question. I need to know if it WILL be ok, not "sure". hah, thanks again (In advance)

Id wait if it were me. Id beat the dogs of impatience with a stick. IM not saying they WONT work but do you really wanna take the chance of them letting loose? One of those things lets loose you could lose more than just the bolt. you COULD lose the tranny thats why id wait.

tried a junkyard? i know that seems a tad bit ODD...but beleive it or not when i had my 92 Z28 i needed some tranny bolts...couldnt find em ANYWHERE and it was gonna take the dealer 2 weeks to get em. Obviosly i couldnt wait that long i NEEDED the car...i went to a junkyard told em what i needed and VIOLA up pop my tranny bolts. Cost me 4 bucks too LoL. I dont see why they couldnt locate you some flywheel bolts for an M5

I have 8 of the bolts that you are talking about right here. They do take a while to get in at the dealership...and they are pricey. I would wait though....better safe then sorry...gotta think couple of thousands of dollars of damage for 3 bolts? Don't think so.

I'd chose bolts that bite of bolts that will back out. Wait for the correct bolts. My .02
