As I said before, mail order tune = teh ghey. Period. Ok, they CUSTOM TUNED the Intense car. Which means it's not the $300 mail order tune. This means that they spent hour upon hour on the dyno. I'm sure if you walked into DHP and told them that you wanted that combo, it wouldn't be $300. FWIW, wideband dyno tuning alone runs $100-150 per hour.

And the original post for this flamewar stated A CUSTOM PCM such as DFI, or FAST. Personally, I would rather have a stand alone setup than a ghey reflashed pcm. I would want to be able to make changes to account for weather changes and such.

I agree with you on the stand alone being much better. I would much rather buy a stand alone engine mgmnt system than mess with the stock PCM, for obvious reasons, most of which you have pointed out. Most of the things people do on here don't require extensive programming, ie no speed limiter, higher shift points, higher redline, so the mail order reprogramming would suffice.

Pay alot more money for a stand alone system, or pay 300 for a flashed PCM. No one has ever complained about it. If you live close to someone who does the flashing, if their schedule permits, they will flash it for you instead of a "mail order" PCM if it makes you feel better.

Zoomer, I am EXTREMELY interested in the 4.1 L block.

I am planning on a built motor (forged internals) this winter.....

You seem to have done incredibly well with that engine.

I have no problems about going to a DFI or FAST system to address tuning.

I saw on the site you are working on an engine for boosted/ nitrous applications. Any idea one when that may be done?
            Cost etc?

            Thanks.

I'll drop you an e mail also

Hmmmmmm, tried to send you an e mail and got sent back to me :( Hopefully you will see this post
