I got my whole engine compartment filled with snow and had to drive it home. It damn near over heated, but never actually reached the red. So far ive found that the fan wont move because of all the snow, the coolent is all gone out of the radiator and its not showing that itll hold a charge. Im thinking the charge issue is just because of the blockage of the fan so it was straining the system and causing the lack of charging. My main concern is that i could have possibly cracked the block is there any quick way to check this without having to pull the motor or anything like that. O the car is a 96 3.8

WHy would the block be cracked, did you drop it???? Freeze plugs should pop before it happens. should.
1) remove snow from fan so it turns
2) check coolant levels
3) take car & get charging system checked for free
if engine bay is full of snow (since you took the car snow boarding) the lack of flow for air to through the radiator most likely caused the overheating.1978 Formula 461 in progress of being built

Get rid of all that snow first, then refill the radiator correctly, then check engine oil, free up the fans, and then try and start the car. WTF happened?255/50R16 Tires, Pioneer Deck, Pioneer 4 Way speakers, PPI Amps, JL subs, Spec Stage 3 Clutch, Optima Yellow Top

if you got an inclosed garage put it in there overnight and let the snow melt and the fluids melt( whats the freezing point of antifreez? how cold is it there?) I have heard of people driving their car and the air rushing in was so cold that the antifreeze actually froze and the car overheated.95 Firebird
http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/673250
http://photobucket.com/albums/y217/andrewbrandon19/

me on a good day------> linky

Stupid me needed a pack of cigarettes. I live in indiana n we got pounded. I opened the radiator n heard it depressurize, and didnt see any fluid left and i could smell it inside the engine. I didnt loose any oil pressure at all on the way home. Im hoping that maybe i just popped off a hoze or something. Most of the fluid seemed to be on the left side of the bay on the wheel well.

I didnt have a garage to put it in but i started digging it out this morning. The charging is because the belt popped off, and the coolent im not sure yet its all mostly by the coolent overflow tank so i dunno if it just froze what was in the lines and then blew by the cap. The only thing with that tho is that the cap was still on is there a chance that it could have still went through even though it didnt loose the cap. Thnkx for those whove helped me so far.
