Is advanced tech becoming not so advanced?

I agree man. Sometimes I get lured into a crappy gen. tech post, only because I can't tell what the topic is about.

It is becoming to general in here, but just be nice to people when telling them that they should put their topic someplace else!

Glad my question made it about the HPP3! I was looking to the advanced section for more experienced advice then the usual kids that play in general. But I agree on being real strict, I don't even look at general anymore because half the kids don't know what they are talking about and mislead the original poster of the thread on what to do. Anyways, keep it strict, your doing a good job, thanks for moving my thread.

Now if you would (for good times sake)....now moving to general tech

With regards to "advance" becoming not so "advance". I can agree with that assesment, however many folks maybe are new and just don't know where to post questions.

It seems a few times there have been questions that are more general, and or belong in another thread altogether.

Keith I think your doing a good job! Keep up the good work. My advice is if you find something that belongs in "apearance" for exmaple, just move it.

Personally myself, I try to be as helpfull as possible. I come here for fun, and because I love F-body cars. The types of things I try to ignore are negative remarks towars other people, ideas, and so on. It is dissapointing to see some of those kinds of remarks in this topic.

The whole point was, I belive to see if others felt as the moderator feels that some items should be moved as they are not "advace" material. Did I understand that correctly Keith?

This is kinda like consensus 2003. Mike and I are curious how you guys feel advance tech is doing, how it was, and where we should go with it.

move advanced tech all the way to the bottom of the board. that way it will be more secluded. i think less "bad" posts would be kept out becuase people who just generally browse and nothing to in depth will find it.

Ok I do not post much but I have been around awhile the topic is is advance tech getting to general? Mangus yes it is.
But everyone say do a search I just did a search on the words "what cam" I got 200 hits on that topic is anyone going to take there time to read 200 topics to see if there question is in there? So please stop with the do a search line do you do a search everytime you want to begin a topic? NO you do not or all the old post would still be at the top and the first cam topic I found would not be at the bottom of over 200 other post.

Mangus suggestion is to just move it over to general and let the person know why it is there what ever the topic is. Sorry I do not post in here much but when I saw the frist few [img]graemlins/bs.gif[/img] post about people needing to do a search I had to say something.

I just looked in the tech archive area and there is nothing on cams maybe the best post on cams with the must info should be placed there.

My personal oppinion is I don't like the archive section on this forum. I think it genralizes a bunch of specific posts pertaining to one subject all in one big group.. If you want to search about cams you should search advanced tech and not the tech arvhice.. but that's just my oppinion..

I wouldn't mind more stuff in the engine section of the tech database. When I get the chance I'll add more to it.

I say make a computer/electronics section...

computer tuning...

Maybe make advanced tech Engine block Improvements only.

Basically Cam, port & polish, internals... all that fun stuff. No engien repairs.

And keep the stuff like fuel improvements in general tech.

Keith and Mike, I think you guys are doing a great job. I think anything that has to do with engine and transmission should be in advance. I know it will get repetious but this is a learning experience for the most of us.

I did post about VS cam last time and got "0" response. I figure it must be in the archives already but I couldn't find it.

I am taking a class in engine block and hopefully more classes in automotive. Someday I'll be able to contribute here. ;)

YES they should! Not only was there a high likelyhood that their question has been asked before but they could probably learn more on the topic in general. Why ask a question that's already been asked 10 times. People get pissed answering the same questions over and over and over and over again. Why sit there and wait for people to respond to your specific thread when you can get answers immediately? I think it's lazy to not do a search.
