i would like to say something if i may. if the post doesnt belong then what is the problem with the mods just moving it? if it doesnt have to do with "advanced tech" then i say just move it. no hard hard feelings just dont belong. the poster will get the idea.
but i have to agree with people need to search more. i search all the time and alot of times it helps. sometimes it doesnt, but most times it does.
and for the archived forum, i think it sucks. i dont know what is going on in there. maybe i need to know how it works. for example, recently i SEARCHED for fuel filter cause i want to replace mine and found a step by step thread. i think stuff like that belongs in archive, but how do we get it there? i dont think i saw it in there so i just bumped it in general but in 2 days it will be buried again.
now i have to speak up for the non-mechanic people like myself. when it comes to talking vague in our posts its becuase we honestly dont know what or how to say. you guys need to be more patient. i honest to god wanted to get a video of my car dying out on me so you advanced guys could see/hear/be there when it happens. how better to explain it? other than being there? then lo and behold i read a post with the same problem described by another person who says the similar words. us non-mechanics come to you guys instead of running to our local mechanic everytime we hear something or feel something. i am just asking that you guys be more patient and understanding. for example i ask something here and then take that to my mechanic and pretend like i know something. can you imagine how bad i would get raped everytime i went to the mechanic not knowing at least something about the matter. though i now have a personal mechanic that i know wont cheat me, but i am sure there are a few guys out there not so lucky.
all in all i like advanced tech. i rarely come here cause i am not so advanced, but i do feel it should be strictly advanced.
