as you can see i run nitrous..i'd like to be able to run it whenever i please..i dont really "street race" but every once in a long while i'll gun it quick just to see who's got the faster car if i think its a worthy enough competitor..so anyways..im gonna be running a 100 shot direct port..id like to retard the timing 2* and just run 92+ octane fuel..my questions are these...when im not running nitrous is retarding the stock timing 2* going to be harmful at all?..will the PCM make any of its own recalculations for this?..how much will i really notice a loss in performance?..and finally..should i actually just leave the timing stock if using 92+ octane fuel and NGK TR6 plugs?..thanks in advance!

Retarding the timing 2° while N/A will not do anything except make a little less power. But you have HP Tuners, so why not just make an N/A tune and a seperate nitrous tune, then when you want to juice it just use the nitrous tune.Matt

hmmmm..but how do you have both files?..an n/a file and a nitrous file..and then how does the car choose between the two?<b>12 SECOND DUAL STAGE DRY NITROUS POWERED 98 A4 V6 CAMARO<br /><a href=\"http://www.mysickcamaro.50megs.com\" target=\"_blank\">www.MySickCamaro.50megs.com</a><br />Best ET: 12.82@103<br />Best MPH: 104.7<br />Best 60\': 1.75 - Stock TC</b><br /> </font><blockquote><font size=\"1\" face=\"Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif\">quote:</font><hr /><font size=\"2\" face=\"Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif\">Originally posted by Shodown:<br /><strong>1DV6 runs 12\'s...enough said. </strong></font><hr /></blockquote><font size=\"2\" face=\"Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif\">

ohhhhh...got ya..i was confused because i know the PCM will choose back and forth between high and low octane tables..i dont really want to do that because i just want the car to be ready to go if im driving along...so i guess it comes down to leaving the timing stock..or retarding it 2* ..how much of a power loss do you think 2* would take?..would it even be noticeable?..i appreciate the help<b>12 SECOND DUAL STAGE DRY NITROUS POWERED 98 A4 V6 CAMARO<br /><a href=\"http://www.mysickcamaro.50megs.com\" target=\"_blank\">www.MySickCamaro.50megs.com</a><br />Best ET: 12.82@103<br />Best MPH: 104.7<br />Best 60\': 1.75 - Stock TC</b><br /> </font><blockquote><font size=\"1\" face=\"Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif\">quote:</font><hr /><font size=\"2\" face=\"Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif\">Originally posted by Shodown:<br /><strong>1DV6 runs 12\'s...enough said. </strong></font><hr /></blockquote><font size=\"2\" face=\"Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif\">

I used stock timing when I sprayed the 125 shot and nothing happened.. I have had the juice for 2years now and have put 65 bottles trough a stock motor.. I used stock timing and stock A/F on the spray and on motor I advanced 4 degrees and leaned out 2%.. That was with a Maft+ tuner..I also have a walbro 255 pump so it is rich as hell..Jeff ..
