I guess I posted my topic in the wrong place first. So here it goes again.

What stronger internals are available for 3.8? List every company and part you can think of.

the l67 internals are better, also tom at www.supersixmotorsports.com will get forged pistons for ya, and as we all know, he also does cam and heads.

The only forged "shelf" piston/rod that I know of is the GM L67 setup. Going with this would drop your comp. ratio to 8:5:1 since the piston is dished. Outside of that you would need to send a stock L36 piston off to some place like Ross and have some custom ones made.

        According to my research....

The L67 and L36 pistons are made from the same materials. L67 just has a deeper dish.

One might say the L36 is the chicago style piston. LOL *corny I know*

I'm still wondering what the rod differences are though... I'd be willing to bet they are the same material as well.

You could always have custom pistons/rods made up Dom... I have some info of a place that has done this as well for a few ClubGP.com members..

I need to collect this stuff.. It will be in the Technical Database eventually.

One of the main differences, so I hear, between the L67 and the L36 is in the piston rings. I'd bet the L36 pistons would be fine under super-high compression (15psi || 13:1compression) if you just invested in some high quality rings to seal the combustion chambers *better*. I might be wrong in this, but from what I hear about V8s this is the case for most of them.

Btw, our pistons are hypereuclectic(sp) and not forged... I'm not even sure if the L67s are forged.
