The only forged "shelf" piston/rod that I know of is the GM L67 setup. Going with this would drop your comp. ratio to 8:5:1 since the piston is dished. Outside of that you would need to send a stock L36 piston off to some place like Ross and have some custom ones made.
One of the main differences, so I hear, between the L67 and the L36 is in the piston rings. I'd bet the L36 pistons would be fine under super-high compression (15psi || 13:1compression) if you just invested in some high quality rings to seal the combustion chambers *better*. I might be wrong in this, but from what I hear about V8s this is the case for most of them.
Btw, our pistons are hypereuclectic(sp) and not forged... I'm not even sure if the L67s are forged.
