AIT stands for air intake temp sensor. if its 38 below up there in new york then why would it get warmer in the 1-2 feet of your intake before it hits your sensor95 Firebird
http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/673250
http://photobucket.com/albums/y217/andrewbrandon19/

me on a good day------> linky

Do you have an SLP temp module, or an IAT resistor or anything? Intense could have also edited that value from the file you ordered from them awhile back. I know when I've autotap'd my car in the past it will read a straight 41* due to the temperature module in my car. Sounds like maybe you have something similar installed.AIM: Alientr8tr
1998 Camaro 3.8L
Flowmaster 80-series, !FRA, Eibach Springs, KYB AGX, SLP sway bars, 3.42/LSD, Wings West kit, Z06 Motorsports, Silverstone Metallic paint
Shift 5 - My Band

no its nice up here..like 40* ..but the IAT sensor doesnt move at all..its like its not even hooked up..i had a problem with it a while ago..i pulled the wires out the back by accident when i was working on the car..i hooked the wires back up and everything but didnt realize there was still a problem..i think that might be causing it..i'll just get a new pig tail and sensor for like $20 and see if that takes care of it..its pretty cheap and that will eliminate it being the sensor..but would that cause the 3* of knock i saw?..or is that normal?..thanks guys!12 SECOND DUAL STAGE DRY NITROUS POWERED 98 A4 V6 CAMARO
www.MySickCamaro.50megs.com
Best ET: 12.82@103
Best MPH: 104.7
Best 60\': 1.75 - Stock TC

quote:
Originally posted by Shodown:
1DV6 runs 12\'s...enough said.

well if your sensor is telling the computer its neg 38 degrees its probably adding a good bit of timing that could be your cause.00 GTP
98 Camaro v6
See, told ya I\'d be rockin another 4th gen :D
V6 & V8 tuning available at http://mysite.verizon.net/whenn1/

You should be getting an SES light from that IAT. Anything below -29° will set a code.
The IAT sensor has so little control over timing, I doubt that's it. It only retards the timing like a couple degrees when it's hot out.
Can you post the whole log so we can see it?Matt

Just a thought. Did you see if there were any trouble codes displayed? If you have a lower temp stat, you may be throwing a thermostat code which would cause your temp gauge not to work.2002 Pewter V6 Camaro M5

Quickest stock-motor N/A V6 4th Gen F-body.
2nd Quickest N/A V6 4th Gen F-body overall.
mods: Gear, weight reduction, tuning

Fear the Gear. 13.585 @ 100.05 1.827 60\'

www.NJFBOA.org

yup..i've been shutting it off so much lately i just set it to not turn the light on..i can post a log tomorrow..my gf is using the laptop for school right now..id like to post one anyway just to see what all you tuners think of the #s..but basically everything is working fine..injectors, o2s, MAF, etc..except the IAT sits still at -38 (which is the lowest on that gauge)..and of course the things this might possibly be effecting..i just bought a new sensor and have the pig tail connector on the way..im thinkin that should do it..i'll post a log tomorrow and then one after i fix the sensor 12 SECOND DUAL STAGE DRY NITROUS POWERED 98 A4 V6 CAMARO
www.MySickCamaro.50megs.com
Best ET: 12.82@103
Best MPH: 104.7
Best 60\': 1.75 - Stock TC

quote:
Originally posted by Shodown:
1DV6 runs 12\'s...enough said.

Get a new IAT sensor and be done with it.. It only costs $10 max2000 Firebird.. Whisper lid, Custom exhaust, FRA mod, MSD Coil packs, MSD wires, TCI 3000 stall verter, TSP mail order tune. No times as of yet waiting for the track to open

when a sensor reads -38,-39, or like -40 it means there's an open in the circuit. The PCM defaults to that reading. Replace the sensor and you should be good.

it is the cause of the knock because the pcm is adding like 12 degrees of spark at that temp.2002 Pewter V6 Camaro M5

Quickest stock-motor N/A V6 4th Gen F-body.
2nd Quickest N/A V6 4th Gen F-body overall.
mods: Gear, weight reduction, tuning

Fear the Gear. 13.585 @ 100.05 1.827 60\'

www.NJFBOA.org
