How much power can the Stock Internals Handle???

I'm currently running a 6lb powerdyne setup, and i'm thinking of adding the supersix powerpack(with cam) on top of that, now once everything is all apart, will i need to change my rods etc? or are the internals strong enough to handle the combined power of both major mods. Last thing i want to do is to deal with any problems like that.
Also will my computer NEED to be programmed, cause supersix says that they don't do that quite yet.....is there anyone else who can optimize my computer to run with the mods i have..

I've been running the 6lb Powerdyne unit with a cam (stock heads) for about 9 months with no problems at all. I've sprayed it a few times too. I'm going to the 9lb pulley soon so we will see if anything blows up.

IMHO I think the stock internals can handle a good beating. (short block) If you go with the SSM pack I would upgrade your springs and also go with some new pushrods.

Computer tuning is not manditory for the power pack, but you will get more out of it with some tuning. Right now our tuning options are still limited.

Say Mike, can your car still be daily driven with all that mods. I was thinking of doing the same thing. But have been financially tight but I'm hoping maybe next year now. I would like to see more feedback on this. Thanks


P.S. Where are you getting your 9lbs pulley.

I think my car would be driveable daily with some tweaking. Right now the car runs good at WOT only, low rpms and idle quality are bad. I need to do a few things with the car, replace O2's, do the Magnus upgrade to a 99 MAF sensor, and figure out a way to program in the LT1 injectors to get rid of the extra fuel. My goal is to have all this done along with a few other things by the end of March. (BOV, 9lb pulley, new posi, new wheels, new exhaust) I'll let you know how she runs then.

I've actualy had the 9lb pulley since I got the blower, I should have just put it on from the start. I just need to get off my lazy butt and pull the blower off to install it. ;)
