  • Electrical issues, won't start

Normally I would not think this to be advanced..... but I have tried all that I know and maybe someone here has an idea

This is pissing me off soooo much, I have zero patience for this.

    What I know:

    Battery fully charged.
Turn key in ignition and fule pump comes on and fuel lines are full.
Purge, master, nitrous etc all work.
    Starter was replaced last weekend.
All fuses checked and are fine.
All relays checked and are fine.
    No SES codes

After starter was replaced car started up beautifully several times.

    Now, it won't start.

    WTF is it?????

I will probably post this in a couple sections because I was planning on leaving at 2:30 today to run... that f*cking ain't happening now.

    Help, please help.

alternator take a poop? And not giving the battery enough charge to start the car. When it started up it drained the battery to just enough to power the switches and lights possibly?

Oh yea have you checked all the engine grounds in the engine bay? Maybe one is loose or rusted apart. If that happens the engine will not start as well.

since this seems to be the place to answer how about trying to jump it, yeah I know you said the battery is good and has been rechecked but try it anyway. I remember you used to have a cutoff switch on the car. What about that. also don't you have a rear mounted battery? There is alot of wire there. Check the voltage of the wire with the key in the on position at the starter, where it comes into the silenoid. That will help you narrow down the problem

No rear mounted batteyr or cut off switch.

          Ground checked.

Battery was hooked up to a jump box

well the next thing I would check is the voltage at the starter if that is good then you gotta start working back from the silenoid. Do you get a click at all when you hit the key, if not then I'm betting the problem is in your starter or silenoid

oah try this and yes I'm serious, tap the starter pretty firmly a couple of times with a wrench then try to start it. I know it sounds goofy but I have seen this work on several GM vehicles.

                Re: Electrical issues, won't start

yea when the starter is going bad you can tap it with a hammer, but he just put a new starter into the car so it shouldn't be that unless he bought a faulty refurb. starter.

See lounge, that thread has more intercation.

I already tapped starter, nothing, no difference
