this might seem a bit technical, but does anyone know what software and hardware that fastchip uses to tune the 3.4?

Great work and thanks to everyone who is compiling all these stickies... i'll figure one out soon and get some research into it and be a more better member haha.

No, the guys on 60*V6 are swapping the top end from the 3500 not the pistons, they are keeping thier stock 3400 pistons. If they were swapping the pistons then thier compression ratio would be 9.8:1 not 8.9:1.
First off there's two heads and second no thats not all you need to do. There's a few more parts that need to be bought. If you just read the beginning of this thread it will tell you the majority of what you need. I hope I didn't just come across as rude, thers' just so much info on this swap if you just search and read.
do you even know what the heads do? or what they look like?
Are you asking me? They hold the valves, springs, rocker amrs, valve guides, spark plugs, etc. There are two valves for each cylinder, exhaust and intake that open and close in realtion to the camshaft rotating and pushing on the pushrods causing the rocker arms to rotate and push the valve open. The reason the valves close back up is the springs are allowed to uncompress when the pushrods goes back down. The heads are also involved in the combustion process and can also help determine the compression ratio by having a different size bowl. I know what the heads are and what they do, I've torn down this 3.4 engine before and rebuilt, so i know what I'm talking about.
might as well throw on an aftermarket CAI for the 3500 as well

Ok gentlemen this is actually my first post around here and i realize this is an old thread...and I dont even own a camaro, but hear me out! I have an s-10 that i swapped a 3.4 into; however, i retained the tbi that was on the 2.8 in the s-10. You may be aware that this is becoming a regular swap on the s-10 side because everything just bolts up. Swap the intake and tbi and you're done. My question becomes this: If you can swap the 3.1 heads on to your motors, considering the heads bolt on, would it seem reasonable to assume I could do the same? All while retaining the tbi?
