  • Cam Help?

I have a 95 3.4 L V6 Camaro. I'm looking to put in some performance cams, camshaft, valves, etc. Can anyone tell me which of the following sets would be best, and can i program my computer myself, or how much would it cost to have somebody do it for me?

    *Duration (Intake/Exhaust): 192°/200° @ .050"
    *Valve Lift (w/1.5 Rocker): .390"/.390"
    *Lobe Sep. Angle: 108°

    *Duration (Intake/Exhaust): 206°/206° @ .050"
    *Valve Lift (w/1.5 Rocker): .425"/.425"
    *Lobe Sep. Angle: 110°

    Re: Cam Help?

I have this cam in my car:

Comp Cams custom grind (dont remember the #)
    *1993-1995 3.4L V6
    *Duration (Intake/Exhaust): 212°/218° @ .050"
    *Valve Lift (w/1.5 Rocker): .446"/.454"
    *Lobe Sep. Angle: 114°

produces a nice idle: http://camaro.adwire.com/idle.mp3 ;) and a lot of power (of course your engine is only as strong as the biggest bottleneck).

you have to realize that if you put on a nice cam (even a slight increase over stock) with stock heads/intake - you will only notice a slight increase in power. mostly cause the flow on the stock topend of the RWD 3.4 sucks majorly.

if you dont have good airflow in the heads/intake you wont benefit as much from a cam install.
