Re: balance shaft
lance said you dont need it. I want to just remove the chain for now.
I guess you would see a .1 increase in the 1/4 mile, as it weights 10lbs of moving weight, thats powertrain drag.2k2 camaro, K&N, SLP whisper lid, Konis, AEM, HP Tuners, Angel eyes/Halos, CF SS ram air hood, 4.10s, Zexel Torsen, UMI SFCs, CrossFire, BFGs, Gatorback, Catco, Flows, and TLC! 10lbs of rotating mass also equals about .1 in the quarter.
As far as needing it if you remove it you will need to fill the oil hole in the block as well as having everything externally balanced to compensate for removing it, but for a hardcore build up it's something most will do!

i did mean 10 lbs of rotating mass, which does not equal 1lb of static weight
its 8-10lbs of static rotating mass
I dont think you even have to worry about balancing. Lance said that he didnt really notice a difference with it on/off.2k2 camaro, K&N, SLP whisper lid, Konis, AEM, HP Tuners, Angel eyes/Halos, CF SS ram air hood, 4.10s, Zexel Torsen, UMI SFCs, CrossFire, BFGs, Gatorback, Catco, Flows, and TLC!
