Looking 4 a good mechanic or shop.

Well it has come down to it now. i have a bad rod bearing in my 02 firebird, so im going to have to pull the motor and rebuild the bottom end. In doing so i am thinking of spending the extra money and investing in the stroker kit from zzp.

So i am looking for any shops or a mechanics that would be willing in tackling this job, and or picking up some extra cash. I would like to help out as much as possible cause i love to work on my car, as well it would be a great learning experiance.

I live in bloomingdale iL, which is just out side of chicago. I will go up to 2 hours away. Please let me know if intrested or know of any good shops.

Stroker Kit for an LS1 right ? Or is there a Stroker kit for the 3.8 :P

ZZP sells a stroker kit for the 3.8 which strokes it to about a 4.1.
It uses a reworked stock crank so you can not use a power added safely with the ZZP stroker kit.

Other than that I can't help with where a good shop is close to you.

Do you know by any chance the Link to that Kit or how much power gain is etc. ?

It has been able to handle up to 14 pounds of boost before it snapped.
but they dont recommend more than a 50 shot of nitrous or more than 9 pounds of boost.
