  • Good times, ordering valvetrain mods!

I've been kicking it around for way too long and I finally ordered my cam. so far what I have in:

    Comp GT2 cam

    LS6 90# valve springs

    About to order:

    Steel retainers

    new timing chain

    upgraded pushrods

hydraulic roller lifters (oe-r variety from ZZP for higher rpm use)

Any suggestions as to what else I should order to make sure this beast will run right? I thought that maybe I should've ordered 105# springs, but dismissed this idea: my shop thinks 90s are fine for the amount of lift the GT2 gives.

Anyone who has the GT2 cam installed (and the car tuned) what do you think? What kind of horsepower gains did you see? I'm going to have mine dynotuned after (and hopefully BEFORE) install to give myself and everyone else an idea of how much RWHP it yields.

yes, the pushrods are from ZZP, and they offer a set made by ZZP or by Competition Cams. I'm ordering the comp variety.

If you're interested in a Comp Cam, I've got two of them on eBay. Both were ordered for use in the "Camaro Performers" magazine project. One was a cam that was never used and the other is low mileage used. Both have 210/214 lift at .050 and .488 (1.6:1 rockers) or .549 (1.8:1 rockers). The new cam has 116 lobe separation. the used cam has 114 lobe sep. The used cam is being sold with LS6 lifters and valve springs along with Comp Hi-Tech pushrods.
