    what do you do when you've reamed as much ridge as allowed and you cant get your pistons (with new rings) into the block? heh
    this is on my friend's 302 or 305 I cant remember which, z28 3rd gen I think.
    I think its time for a new block
    2k2 camaro, K&N, SLP whisper lid, Konis, AEM, HP Tuners, Angel eyes/Halos, CF SS ram air hood, 4.10s, Zexel Torsen, UMI SFCs, CrossFire, BFGs, Gatorback, Catco, Flows, and TLC! DONT feed the Trolls!

    Thats when you bore it and buy new pistons. Hate to be this way but all the low dollar work I've seen that you're trying to do will bite you hardcore if you don't watch it.

      Are the pistons oversize or stock size?

      Stockers should go right in. If the rings are hanging up, the compressor isn't set up right. It's on an angle, too loose, and/or the piston is all the way over to one side in the bore and not centered.

        I wish you would tell me what low dollar work that I was talking about which is bad?

        I pulled the pistons out without a ridge reamer, cause I thought it didnt have a ridge at all, and I still dont think it has any kind of ridge. No rings broke..
        The pistons came out easily.
        Hope I know what I'm doing ;)
        My worse fear is putting it all back together and the NEW rings STILL leak

          You need to take the block to a machine shop to get a proper hone job done. New rings wont seal on an old hone job and just knocking the ridge out of the cylinder isn't considered "honing."

            It's really easy to hone though. Did it in auto class for my first time ever on my block last month and my teacher said I did a great job..

                Its not an old hone job, I just did a 3- stone hone with my drill. Will it not seal? Nobody had a "bottle brush" flex hone type honer. It says "OEM" on the box.
