i blew the motor on my 96 3.8 at 90,000 miles. as i started looking at some used motors (money is very limited) i started to wonder if i could put the 3.8 from a 97+ in it since the ecm or whatever is different. all i need is the motor but wanted to know if anything changed that wouldn't allow me to put the newer motor in her?

it should work i believe, you will just have to keep your throttle body if you get a 99+ -

anything from 95-98 will be a direct swap for the motor. 99+ went to the straight tb and intake, to make those engines work you would need to swap your tb and intakes to the 99+ engine.Comment

long blocks 95.5 ~02 shouldn't matter, as long as you swap over induction/harness from origonal motor. hell, even the w-bods long blocks cain work w/some front cover/oil filter adaptor swappage1978 Formula 461 in progress of being built :rock:
