Um your car has motor mounts.... Its the part that keeps the motor in place in the car...

Wheel hop? Thats like my windshield washer LEDs give me 30hp! And I did the spark plug MOD!
Makes no difference in other words on wheel hop...

And he is right they are kinda a pain to change. I have to put new ones in my car, its not much fun. But if your motor is moving around too much because one of the mounts is bad or loose, you do HAVE to fix it!

your friend is correct that it will help wheel hop...but ONLY in a FWD car. and btw, noone makes aftermarket mounts. the only option is to fabricate some solid ones.

Don't know if I would want to do that, if you mean like solid steel no give... Because thats going to put alot of stress on our weak little uni-bodies... Used to weld and cable motors in on old muscle cars, but most of those had real frames too.. Don't know if the little V6's would cause an issue but just a thought.

                    Re: motor mounts???

yes,2 of the same. not sure how easy/hard swapping mounts on a 4th gen is, but on a third gen it's a real pain inthe arse, even w/1 person w/all teh tools to do it.

What I have seen is people just get a legnth of chain & attach it from the fender wall (structural place) to a bolt on the engine to keep it from twisting. This way, it can be easily removed durring daily driving and doesn't transfer as much shakiness to the car durring non-1320 rides.

Does anyone have any pictures of these mounts? Preferabley not installed. I ordered one from GMpartsDirect online...forgetting to order 2. The part number is 22173130 for $31.44 (online). I called GM and they say thats the Left side. They also said the right side costs more ...$68.25 (@the dealer). He didnt tell me the part number for the right side.

Who have you guys gone through to buy engine mounts?.. and is there really two physically different Left and Right side mounts? Reason I was asking was because Energy Suspension has only one picture (item number 3.1145 i saw through Summit Racing) which looks unexpectedly way different than what i have in my hands (maybe its the right hand side mount they are showing that i dont have?). Could someone shed some light on this for me?

energy suspension 3.1145 is just an insert that goes into the clamshell. it's not the whole motor mount.
