Just remember which way the old rod came out, meaning, which side was facing toward the front of the motor ... and double check the bearing surfaces ... made that mistake once .. :)
his could have been stratched/ruined ect. just take a look at them, run your finger over them. if they're smooth your fine. if your worryed about it just post up a pic and we can tell you. how's your project going so far?
