So my 3.8l has 116k miles on it and i want to install a cam soon but what all will i need to replace? or will my stock valve train work fine with a cam "ill replace it later" or should ido anything at same time? i plan on changing seals and gaskets duh. but asfar as pushrods and rocker arms or lifter? and now when it says that this cam requires a touque converter thats to keep it driveable or just for better performance? and last whats a good cam to even use? i am mostly stock borla 3" and K&N drop in. wow my cars more stock then i remember? was thinking intense 1x cam?

Re: Cam requirements
when installing a cam you wont have access to rods, rockers, etc so it wouldn't all be in "one" job. The need to replace these parts is usually when performance is in mind, you wont need, and it is not recommended to replace your lifters. Stock lifters allow more room for error and will continue to run fine with changes to the vavle train, if anything get OE lifters, there is a great write up on them on zzperformance.com under tech articles. As far as rods and rockers, it really depends on the performance gains you have in mind. Stock parts will be fine, and normally you would only upgrade rockers and rods if you werent running a cam. Bottom line, its your call.
