Engine swap ?'s, I searched and read every thread on it

I have a 97 Camaro RS. I have pretty much all the other threads and I am more confused now than I was. I was thinking the lt1 would be easier and cheaper than the ls1. My question is what would be the better engine to swap, lt1 or ls1? By better I mean easier install and cheapier. I am also looking to put in a 5 or 6 speed manual trans. Could I go with a bigger v8 for a few extra bucks? And if you have already done a swap, How much you have invested?

LT1 = cheaper
but the LS1 is just a little more expensive and barely a little harder
but I have yet to do the swap. I am TOTALLY down

for a LS1 the cost is about 5000-6000 dependoing on the motor you find more if your dont do the work
