I was thinking of getting the GT1 Cam from http://www.zzperformance.com/grand_p...ts1.php?id=123
and I was wondering if I needed to upgrade my springs and heads or would the stock ones be okay? Also, around how much would the cam cost to get installed? Thanks.
the GT1 cam was made to keep everything stock, you dont need to change or upgrade anything.
It will only cost as much as a gasket set if you do it yourself... if you want a shop to install it (eww) your looking at probably $500
the GT1 cam will also make more power under 5000 RPM than the GT2 will.
You will need a gasket set, new crank bolt, new rocker bolts and I would suggest a new timing chain and tensioner.
Other things WILL come up and need to be replaced as well. Plan for it to avoid trouble later.
Check this little chart out. http://members.cox.net/fsae/camparo.jpg
With the 216 (gt2 cam) you don't lose to much low end over stock.
With the extreme 4x4 lobes of the gt2 I would not be suprised if it made more power down low than the gt1 (extreme energy lobes) despite being a longer duration cam with a tighter lobe seperation.

Hello every one, ozzy here ive been looking at this page for weeks now finally joined. So my question is why is it that every turbo build forum just ends...
Just ordered some Toyo 315/35/17 tires for my 17x11 rims. Hopefully I can get them on the beginning of next year. Will post pics.
