    find the weak link (mod list)

    Alright so if you don’t already know my project my goal is 500 HP ( which should be easily achievable), and we will worry about the quarter mile times after that. I already have most of the parts installed and am taking the car to ZZP for the turbo install and dyno tuning. Here is my mod list, I know the automatic weak link is the tranny, so any recommendations on transmissions? Also how is my rear end going to hold up to all this power, would I have to swap a 12 bolt? If anyone sees any other weak links in my project please let me know. It will remain stock bottom end as that should not be a problem judging from ZZP’s 9 sec. car on a stock L36 bottom end. So like I said give me some feedback if you see something missing.

        your rear end is gonna be crying with that much power and big stall. Might wanna start looking for a moser somewhere. Also is zzp making the piping for you? I live like 10 minutes from zzp and would love to stop in and check the car out. Let me know when you are gonna be there with it.

          its an FFF kit but the piping needs to be modded to fit the pacesetters, I was told today the turbo is shipping out Tuesday ( i have been waiting for a month) so I will be there probably in 2 weeks. anyway could I upgrade my existing rear to better handle the power???? I do have Y 87.

            Viper has a 3800 Stall with 2.5TM. I think he might've broken a 10 bolt before? but he still uses a 10 bolt

                yea you could get a diff cover to strengthen it some, it depends on how you launch it though if it is gonna break or not. If you stall it up high and launch it like a beast you will be grenading it...if the turbo takes a bit to kick in and doesn't spool off the line so you are launching NA you will be ok for awhile

                  haha. List looks good. Yeah I would definately look into a 12 bolt.
                  Maybe some weld-in subframe connectors too.

                    i can actually get a great deal on subframe's there is a local guy with a procharged SS, he is selling brand new connectors, he says he is too old for his camaro now, (he's like 23-24)?????

                      Weak links:
                      All the MSD ignition stuff. It will fail sooner or later.
                      10 Bolt.

                      They might make a few passes, but I wouldn't recommend long term use:
                      Pistons
                      Rods
                      Bearings

                      Which valve springs are you using? Retainers?

                        yeah i broke the stock 10 bolt the eaton and ta cover seem to be holding up fine thus far


                        BTW you may find that stall is too small

                        the TR7 plugs will be WAY TO COLD

                            I agree with you. But there is a reason forced induction factory cars come with beefy internals. Longevity.
