spun bearing

i was looking at the other thread here that camarorulez posted, but i didnt wanna hijack. what exactly IS a spun bearing? i take it thats when the crank siezes on the bearing and the bearing spins on the block? what would that sound like?

It would sound like a slegde hammer smacking aroung inside your block. Increases/decreases with RPM. A very distinct sound, not a tick, but a knock.

it's a very disturbing sound. heheh. like /\ its a hard knocking coming from inside the engine. your car might feel like it's running fine. but dummm dummm dummm

just go to the 3000gt forums 80% of the people there have had one! it blows lack of oil grrrr stupid cars..

My engine has 185,000 miles on it and I hope I DO get a spun bearing...that way I'll *have* to get a new shortblock and build up a nice little engine...maybe make a thpeshul intake that whines and makes blowoff sounds... :drool:
