I have to keep messing with my throttle body by removing and reinstalling it for different things, so I was thinking of filling the TB coolant passage with epoxy as well as creating little plugs in the upper plenum. This would prevent having to bleed the cooling system every time. The epoxy I am using is Oatey waterproof plumbers epoxy. It can handle 300F intermittent and 250F continuous temp rating, so it should hold up. This is something I should have worked on (tapped and plugged) when the manifold was off but didn't realize. I think it is just going to be inconveninent to bleed the coolant system everytime. I would tap and plug it but the shavings might be impossible to remove. Anyone ever try this and think the epoxy plugs would work fine or not?

Re: plumbers epoxy for throttle body coolant bypass
i used RTV silicone and never had to keep bleeding my coolant system. I dont understand why you would have to.2k2 camaro, K&N, SLP whisper lid, Konis, AEM, HP Tuners, Angel eyes/Halos, CF SS ram air hood, 4.10s, Zexel Torsen, UMI SFCs, CrossFire, BFGs, Gatorback, Catco, Flows, and TLC! You mean you used RTV to plug the upper plenum coolant passages or you used it inplace of a gasket? And don't you have to bleed the coolant system if you remove the TB or am I mistaken?Chris
92 Isuzu pickup, dropping in a 3800

Havent even started the engine yet so it might not be a big deal to bleed it everytime, just trying to prepare so its easier for me. I know on other engines it can be a pita to bleed the system.Chris
92 Isuzu pickup, dropping in a 3800
