Can someone please tell me what is the maximum lift stock springs can go to in a stock 3.8 motor?

I don't know where they will fail but I do know that the retainer will hit the valve guide somewhere just past .520" or so.
So I would say that .520" is the limit, after that you need the guides milled down, and then I would get some other springs.1997 Chevrolet Camaro v6 - 13.8@104MPH

so totaly lift of .513 is ok with stock springs?
i have the stage 3 package with cam
214/220 112.......317/317....cam card shows .526/526

i believe the kit has comp 105's. but im getting the exact same noise at upper rpms that others posted. so im looking for a fix.
i have a set of stock retainers and locks that i could use.
