  • crank & cam reassembly

I know the crank & cam gears are supposed to be aligned perfectly up and down with each other.

    1) How is the crank supposed to be aligned with the crank gear? Is there only one way it can go on?

    2) How is the cam supposed to be aligned with the cam gear? Is there only one way it can go on?

I know I should've marked them. I was in too much of a hurry takeing it apart.
Crank is getting polished and checked to make sure it wasnt bent due to hydrolocking. I need to get off my lazy azz and go RTFM (read the manual).

Definately read the manual ... BUT ... the gears only go on one way, so once you have them on, align the gears so that the marks face each other, i.e. crank at 12 o'clock and cam at 6 o'clock...don't forget about aligning the balance shaft to the cam too if you're still using it.
