AZ3.8- You said yours idles fine at 1000? That's the difference perhaps: mine would try to idle lower (under 750) and die: now with a slight tune it idles fine at 750. I think that the different LSA makes a difference as well.
I have an automatic car with a 3000 stall converter.
I went out and tested it a little bit today (shift points still aren't adjusted) and OMG it's a beast (comparatively) on top end. It starts to really pull around 85-90 mph. It's amazing how much top end power I gained with the GT2 cam. I can't wait to get the shift points and rev limiter adjusted. It's only misfired on me once, that was at idle after a cold start. Other than that, the engine runs great throughout the RPM range. It died on me once when I came to a stop, not sure why but it started right back up and ran great. Does anyone think this is something to worry about or maybe just a slight issue with the tuning? I tend to think the latter: oil pressure was constantly good.

That bizarre. I can't imagine 1 degree of LS affecting it that much.
Maybe the different years react a little different. I have a 97.
Mine has NEVER stalled in the years I have had it in untuned. The idle dips a little when I come off of WOT throttle at high RPMS to throttle closed and I put it in nuetral. I don't know though. Thats wierd.

Mine is a '96 maro 3.8 5-spd with the gt2, I had it tuned because like everyone else and myself have said, it dies at idle, or when you let the rpms get low, because it dips below 600ish. I had it mail-order-tuned by texas-speed, because there is nobody around NC with a 3.8 tuner.
