Some advice please??

Hi I have had a good look around your site and I have a basic idea of the 3.4 v6. Im looking to improve the power of my car but without it killing me in petrol what would you suggest? Im in the uk so the fwd head & manifold swap is probably out of the question and I dont know of any companys that do pcm tuning over here. Im thinking of the following:

K & N intake

Headers

Cat backs

High flow cat

Underdrive pulleys

maybe p & p the heads and manifold

Sound ok?? Anything else you guys can think of??

Any help would be great

This is not advanced tech.....post in general tech area for non-indepth engine topics.

In terms of ur question yes I think what you have is good. this is a basic mod sequence:

1 - air intake, full exhaust with headers
2 - rear end
3 - (heads, cam, intake) or turbo
4 - suspension (slicks, sfc, lcas) and pcm tuning

Each of the 4 stages will cost close to $1000 except for stage 3 which will run about 2500-3000 whether you want to stay N/A or go FI

oh one more thing....I would highly consider stopping ur modding after intake and exhaust because dumping money into a 3.4 to make it go fast is worthless, the same is almost true for a 3.8. Save ur money and spend the 4000 on an LS1

Furycharger sorry its in the wrong section im new to the site. Also Im not trying to drag race the thing I just want to perk it up a little and keep it as a nice daily drive. If I wanted to go fast I would have bought a v8!

this is the worst advice. you could buy the motor for about 4k. but then you gotta spend 5-6k more getting it to work. by then you could have just bought a new car.

Lol no kidding, we build our 6s here to build 6s...I have a 2001 Firehawk now, and will not give up my 95 3.4! I will have a 400rwhp 3.4, and do not doubt the crazy man!
