Im rebuilding the whole motor since I have to take it apart to switch the pistons so all will be new and prelubed. Any ideas towards a good cam while Im in there?
The crank and cam won't get touched so they don't need prelube.
You could lube the rod bearings when you put rods in.
As far as the crank and cam are concerned, its just another cold start.
I would pull the motor though, I just like to work on a clean, easy to reach motor if possible, you know?

What's up with the Grand Am pistons? Dif compression or something from the Camaro? I found that the 3400 with the AL heads was like a 11:1 because of the smaller bowl in the head... so I didn't use those heads with my 10.5:1 pistons. I was just wondering what was special about those pistons.

The alum 3400 heads on a 3.4, with 3.4 stock pistons creates approx. a 12:1 CR. I believe grand am has like a 9.6:1-10:1 CR. so yes pistons carry a different CR.
