Do you mean an LS1 engine and T-56 transmission swap or figuring out a way to mate a T-56 transmission to a 3.8 motor?

It would essentially be the same as the auto LS1 swap, like in that link, but...
You would need a clutch pedal assembly, master cyl, hydraulics, etc.
And you would need a manual style center console.

It's also a LOT easier if you stick to a 98 LS1 setup. A lot of stuff (wiring) hooks straight up instead of having to switch them over for a new year. You'll also need to run a wire from the fuse box to the passenger side fuel injectors harness or all cylinders will not fire.

i did some research and like FAD2BLK said it would be much easier for me to do i found all kinds of charts and everyhitng to help me out some too. i have found a few ls1/auto combos on ebay with about 35000miles on them for around $2500. however this project will not start till i get my T/A done and then it may still be a year or two from now till i really get serious in doing it but i want to get as much feedback/info before i start. thanks for all thehelp so far keep it coming

I have done this exact swap and went through tacreationsusa.com for all my parts. They are by far the best company I've ever done business with. Good luck.

All together it was around 6k for motor/tranny and a few mods at the time of the swap.
