    busted Head Gasket AGAIN

    This is like the 8th time I've started it. I dont even think I have it totally broken in yet.
    My air bleeder keeps on bleeding air and bleeding and bleeding....
    My lower radiator hose that hooks up to the Water Pump isnt hot.
    My heater core lines werent hot.
    I just got down my street and it overheated.
    I think the H/G blew because I'm running High AFRs (because I ported my MAF & TB)
    DAMMIT!!
    I'm trying to fix exhaust leaks(so I'm sure my WB is reading right)
    My oil pressure is real low (I would guess 30psi)
    I think the rear main is leaking, because I overtightened it.
    My tranny wont shift out of 1st, even though the gear selector (on the driver's side of the tranny is in OD)
    My friend thinks I have a lifter tick. IDK

    are you blowing smoke? If not, I doubt it unless you blew it over heating. Sounds like your just not getting flow. Is there pressure in the hoses?

    When you bleed your system originally, did it bleed properly? Are you now low on coolant? More info.

      Its hard to blow something up running slightly lean on the street, NA.
      Something else is afoot here.

        cant sell it! not even a possibilty!
        I dont think I'm blowing smoke and I dont see coolant in the oil (like I did before the rebuild)
        The other day I bled it and it bled perfectly. No air, was just shooting out coolant and didnt overheat at all!
        I'm probably low on coolant
        How do I find out if I have pressure in the hoses?
        I need to run some diagnostics tests...

        I blew the head gasket before I rebuilt it, because of lean and overheating. I've never said "slightly", I'm talking 18s and 19:0:1 AFRs.


        I think I overtightened my HGs(barely)
        I Know I overtightened my rear main
        Is there another busted gasket that would make my bleeder keep on bleeding air? besides a HG?

              you could get a cheap coolant system pressure tester cheap and pressurize the system to see if it holds. a quick check is to grab the hose and see if it collapses or holds fairly firm.

                    they've got to be working... but
                    I'm gonna do a compression test and test the 160 thermo
                    How much OIL psi is bad?

                      I would venture to guess that if the thermo wasnt working
                      then I probably wouldnt have air shooting out of my bleeder valve, right?
                      unless there was a leak in the thermo

                            When you last replaced the HG's did you check to make sure the heads and block surfaces were not warped? If they were warped the HG cannot seal and would probably blow immediately. Also make sure you use a torque wrench when tightening the head bolts and all other critical bolts.

                              i did a compression test and I'm getting at least 200psi on all cylinders, SO: obviously I dont have a busted head gasket UNLESS the gas that was already in there is doing a "WET compression test" on me and masking the fact I had a leak. But it really seems like my cylinders are fine.

                              I need to fix my rear-main leak and my tranny problem

                              Could running Lean or having Low OIL PSI cause my engine to overheat?
