    Re: Bearing help.....

Spun bearing or not, either way...given that the amount of work and $$$ required to rebuild to stock and that these engines seem to be a dime a dozen at the wrecker, your best bet might be to turf the busted engine and install a low milage used engine.

I am convinced that the only reason you would re-build one of these engines is to modifiy it for more HP. Rebuilding to stock seems to be a waste of time and $$$$.

      Re: Bearing help.....

Thanks everyone for your help. I bought the 3.8 engine today and its in great shape and is said to have less then 30K miles on it. I'll be putting her in this weekend with the help of a couple friends.

      Thanks again

          Re: Bearing help.....

Thanks but the crackshaft is FUBAR and from what I have read my block might be damaged too. A lot of work would be needed to restore my old motor and thats just time and money I don't have. The new engine is in great shape and it will be easier to just move the wiring and bolt her back up to my car.

I'm going to try and sell my old motor for very very cheap like $100 as long as someone picks it up.
