any 3800 series II block will work, even from the FWD cars of grand prixs and GTP's

Won't he have a lower compression with a GTP block as opposed to the NA block?

                  Re: motor for boost

you will need stage 2 or 3 heads to run the stage 4 cam.

get the 3800 Series III con rods (they are factory forged and know one has broke one yet ~$250 for the set of 6)
                    ARP the bottom end
MLS head gaskets and ARP head studs
Good bearings (most use cleavite tri-metal) but other top brands work to

then get some heads and a cam from abbott racing

then make a turbo kit... if you bro has the skills make a FFH kit like mine (see pic)

if M5 car beef up the 5 speed or it will explode...... if auto get a stall and beef it up

finally get a WB and HP Tuners to tune it with
OR you can get a $500 L67 bottom end and swap it out and, like you said, have a block that can handle 9 second passes. FYI, 3 of the 4 9 second 3800's (one being RWD) use a stock L67 bottom end. Just some food for thought...

that's why you do everything progresivly though. You dont just throw 20 psi on a general tune. There are some running 17 psi daily with no problems, 20 psi on race gas on a stock bottom end.

sky is the limit. might want to check out www.clubgp.com more people there have turbo'd their series II's than here and have much more experience (no offense to anyone here).

you are goung to be limited under 20 psi. Even with a good tune and a strong bottom end you wont blow the motor, but blow a head gasket every pass.

o-ring the block. Zooomer has actually drilled and tapped for an extra bolt for the head and has worked out great. You'd have to ask him more about that though.
