      Re: shortblock

if you are building a shortblock up, ditch the balance shaft. Extra weight removed then

        dont mix anything up.
        document everything for real!
have a nice clean area to lay everything out (so you can remember how it goes back in!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! QFT!!!! )

removing the balance shaft isnt that hard unless you completely remove it

yes i rebuilt mine and removed the B/S

            Re: shortblock

its just there to reduce vibrations, it will vibrate a little bit more but not really noticeable unless you are trying to feel them. You can take just the gear out and leave the bs in there or remove it and then you have to do some work to the oil holes

you dont have to do anything to get it to run right

if you completely take it out.. you have to plug up some oil holes
if you just remove the balance shaft gear, then its good 2 go i think

right if you just remove the gear you can stop there.

If you want to remove the shaft entirly, you need to plug the two holes, that was I was trying to get at with my first question, but i was beat to the punch.
