Does anybody know if a composite intake manifold has ever been developed for the 3.8L? I love the look of the LS1/6 and FAST manifolds, not to mention their high air flowing capabilities etc.. Anyone else agree?

there are no aftermarket manifolds for our cars. Only ported stockers

for the R&D involved and costs to produce it wouldn't be worth it. So if your really serious go for broke and make a carbon fiber intake and some matching valve covers to go with it and go ahead and mock up some ported big valve aluminum heads. <- There's a company doing that already isn't there? Let us know the cost on that, should be in the neighberhood of 2500 for carbon fiber right now with a shortage, right.
Let's flip a coin. Heads I get tail, Tails I get head.

yes zzp has the aluminum heads being introduced. Gonna be expensive though.

Also there is a lot involved in making an efficient intake. You gotta decide what length runners and all that you want among other things

                Re: Composite Manifold

Alright you come up with a composite intake that has proven results, dyno results and flow numbers stock vs composite, and the price is the same or less than the fast ls1 setups then put me down for 1. Matching valve covers shouldn't be a stretch for you then either so put me down for a set when you make the manifold. I'll give you your first sale if you can give me proven positive results.

someone should buy one of these and make an adapter plate or something so that it fits nicely onto our 3800... they arent terribly expensive

you would need a matching lower intake.

and those can be found just as if not cheaper on ebay... problem ofourse being throttle body in the rear... clearance issues and what not... but that would be cool!!! ive got our stock lower intake sitting in my room and a clay mold is coming soon... im going to see if i can actually do this, cause it would be badass.

ill keep you guys posted about it.
