my goal is ~12 s e.t. and 40+mpg (33+ usmpg). this means stock cam, really good injectors, and healthy turbo (60-1ish), and some tuning wizardry. from what i've read, i can use stock crank and series 3 pm rods.

if the block is good, it's better to rebuild it. cast iron blocks move around a little after a few heat cycles. blueprinting the engine will mean it won't move again. i have a really good machine shop locally that deals with the 3800. i need a thorough tranny rebuild.

i want to do some development work. i'll try to use some connections in gm. i'm working on some port shapes, and already have a design i could send to cnc. i'll keep you posted if you're interested.
a 12sec car concerned about mileage is kinda funny, but sounds like you really know what you are doing.

i know it sounds funny. but it's easy to make a lot of power and kill mileage. i actually want to improve mileage. turbos don't push much air at crusing speed - normal mileage. and when you want to play, twist the boost knob.

it's my cashflow that will determine how wild i get with it. and i'm sure my technical skills will grow tremendously...one goal of this project.

Newmarket, and your having trouble finding a V6 bird or Camero? That surprises me! I thought there would be a ton of them in Southern Ontario. They are scarce here in western Canada. Got my FB from a guy who inports cars from the US. V6 FBs and Cameros are seriously cheap in the southern US and more than worth it to import into Canada. Kinda strange when you think about it, given the things were built here!
Now Playing: \'99 Pewter Firebird, stock, bone stock, and nothing but stock, so help me God!
Comming attractions: K&N Filter, Lid Mod, Intake Bellows Smooth Pipe Mod.
I dream about: Forced Induction (TC or SC) or NOX (or both!)

i know! actually, i don't really know how much...i've never really done it before. but i expect weeks of tuning. i just hope i don't hurt the motor too much while i'm learning.

there are a handful of v8 fbodies, but no v6s! it was hard enough finding a 1999 regal gs! btw, i put a deposit on a 1999 buick regal gs. a different one with only 194,000 km for even less than the 240,000 km one (and more options). i'm picking it up this saturday.

since i put this thread in advanced tech (by accident), i'm ending this thread.
