Jesus christ dude, of course our cars weren't made to compete against gt's, they just happened to keep up/beat a few of them.

If you want a 90s gt mustang go get one and GTFO

Its the 93 up GT that had the first generation of the ford 4.6l, from the 5l used in the years before. Those GT's had same #'s as the same year Camaro v6's and ran 16's. If you can't find that it just means you don't know how to use the internet/lack common knowledge.

        Re: v6 upgrade?

I did a 14.9@93 in my stock Y87 minus spare tire and jack. I also did 14.3@96 with a removed exhaust, aluminum flywheel, deleted EGR, deleted MAF screen and stg. 3 clutch on 205/70R15 snow tires mounted on old steel wheels. I eat Mustang GTs all day, and I did so stock as well. I am an excellent driver and there is very little time spent shifting, and I rule at launching my car ;)

Those SN95 (1994-1998) Mustangs are high 14s in manual trim. The autos are easily 15 second cars that our 3800s can keep up with, the 3.4 guys aren't as lucky there.

I've killed a couple of SN95 cobras by car lengths. A matter of driving as well as power to weight ratio. I can't wait for my gforce transmission and 4.10 gears to see how I do against my friend's '07 GT. I'm a better driver so I think I have a good chance from a dig.

I would take my 3800 camaro over a 90s GT anyday. Even the autos with open rears have an advantage over a 90s mustang - Handling. :)

negative. 94-95 sn95s were still 5.0's. 96 the 4.6 came out. greenmachine as always has been misinformed and wont listen. quit being so hard headed and listen for a change.

its only pointless because you wont listen. every arguement youre involved in you look like a idiot. you always think youre right, and you have yet to be once.

we don't have to, the very source you posted does

When viewing this list, please keep in mind that day to day testing conditions are not always perfect (or even consistent) due to weather and track conditions! The results that "the experts" have provided may NOT reflect what your car is capable of doing under your conditions. This list is only meant to be a guideline, NOT THE GOSPEL!!! We are not trying to publish the exact (or even the best) numbers that a specific make and model of car can run every time out of the box.

ya know, i was going to quote that myself, but he'd just tell us that thats not what it says and that we cant read and that the world is flat.

Yes, but you would need to heavily modify the intake manifolds as they are meant for a FWD aplication. Also, if the bolt pattern isn't the same as teh 3800s, which there is a good chance it's not, you will have a problem fitting a transmission to it for our cars.

and I don't care what anyone says, 97 Y87 stock versus 97 GT stock is close, but in favor of the GT. If you're a good driver and the GT driver isn't as good on the shifts you have a good chance. if you have an a4 vert then you'll most likely lose. I drove an a4 vert 3.8 and I felt my Frontier could beat it.
