Rollmaster timing chain?

Hey Guys I am Getting ready to turbo my 98 camaro!!! And I wanted to get The "Intense Turbocharged 3800 camshaft" But I was wondering how important it was to add a timing chain? . . The turbo is going to eat up ALOT of my allowence on this car, so i dont really know if i "need" it. But then again I dont want to be sitting here with a expensive paperweight.

depending on what springs you're going to use you might want a double roller. a new timing chain will cost you a fraction of what it will cost you to turbo it.

Yes I Have The LS6 Valve Springs already, and my turbo is being purchased no matter what. I Am getting ready to Order the turbo Camshaft, but i just dont know if I "have" to order the Timing Chain aswell. is it that important?

How many miles are on your car?

At least get a stock replacement timing chain and
damper/tensioner. Might as well replace them while
you're in there.

With the LS6 or comp 130s, you should probably run the double roller. I hear they eat stock tensioner.

Personally, I think you should forget about the cam, you will have more than enough power with the turbo. I would worry more about getting that all setup correctly. A cam adds another variable when issues arise.

I did just get done installing an intense stage 2 turbo cam, ls6 springs/modified retainers and double roller. I didnt need to install the cam, but I had a bad lifter and the cam has been sitting around for a few years, so I said what the heck. The cam is pretty mild at idle which is what I wanted. I only got to take it out for a quick drive the other day and it didnt feel any faster than the stock cam, but it was 90 degrees out. The last time I drove with the stock cam, it was in the 50s. I have a thread on the other board about it if you want to check it out.

Yea I figured I should Run a double roller if I DO indeed cam it. I'm just tired of my rich Saint X buddies and their SS's runnin their mouth's about my car. Would it be safe enough to run a aftermarket single roller? its like 100 bones cheaper. . .

do NOT run the aftermarket single roller. It is worse than stock.

If you are going to run the LS6's, then a brand new OEM set will be sufficient.

For how long, ive heard numerous places that they work great untill they are destroyed, just 15K down the road.:omg:

Its not the chain thats the big problem, its the tensioner. They wear out quick with aftermarket springs. Comp 105s are suppose to be the best on the tensioner. The only way to get around the tensioner problem is to run a double roller.

Okay so that was a little confusing for me. I dont wan tot go with the 105 because i just payed for these LS6 valve springs, so what do you think i should do, new rollers and a double timing chain? anything else i need to know?
