  • in depth o2 sim questions

i wanna build an adjustable o2 sim. im planning to hook an air fuel meter to the post cat o2 sensor and an adjustable sim to the wire harness of that sensor. i got it all worked out exept for the voltages produced by the o2 sensor. i deleted my cat and stuck a straight pipe on there when my cat went bad. so i cant crawl under there and take some measurements. if anyone out there can help me out with the voltages i would much appreciate it. i will be posting a "how to" once i get it all together and working.

i don't understand what you want to be adjustable and what you want to measure

i need the measurment of the signal the o2 sensors send to the pcm. once i have that i can build a contraption asto where i can modulate that signal to my liking

the problem with making your own o2 simulator is that fact that an o2 simulator varies constantly with voltage. over the course of 1 minute it should go between nearly 1 volt and nearly 0 volts ten to forty times. When it consistantly reads below .5 volts, it tells the pcm your running lean, and above .5 volts it tells it your running rich. i'm not sure that running a constant .5 volt source in place of the o2 will actually keep the PCM from realizing the o2 is not working correctly, which throws the code.
