its nearly complete. I just need a water pump and some sensors. I lost alot of bolts too, but I can almost hear that cam lump away

The fuel rail tucked nicely under the upper intake.

The timing cover isn't on in this one

You never answered my question on the cam.

.512" lift is going to give you coil bind with the stock springs, and is close even with the LS6 spring swap.

You might want to turn the motor by hand and check before starting. Hate to see you bend pushrods when you have done such a nice job.

I'm right behind you ;) Soon as a cam is selected and one head is shaved mine is ready for final.

Yea I'm gonna have to check that... the lifters have no oil in them so I'm kinda f'd on the not starting it thing. its cool though I think i'm gonna swap the springs 1st anyway

Easiest way to swap the spring properly is use LS1 spring seats and just open up the hole in the center a little to fit over the valve guides. People have been having problems with the shims mentioned in the FTV6 thread because the spring is able to walk around on the seat (nothing to keep it centered). The spring walking can pull the valve seals off during operation. The stock retainers and locks work fine, and you will need Cavalier 2.2l seals.
