will the heads, upper and lower intake off of a 01 camaro work on a 97? I got a really good deal on all this stuff and i am going to have eveything port and polished, and I didnt know if the change from an angled to a straight throttle body would make a difference. thanks

Your throttle body won't work on the '00 upper intake. Yours
has a throttle cable and the '00 had a drive-by-wire setup.

I think the lower intakes are the same, but you need to find
          an angled upper.

I've got an extra upper and lower intake that will work with your 97 if you're looking for a set to get ported and polished!

            Sell them cheap!

Uhmm you do know your swapping 200 hp engine components to a 200 hp engine right? I would take the money spent on the 01 parts and just work your stock ones. Otherwise youll have a set of heads lying around that arent gonna be easy to get rid of.

It's a lot more convenient to have 0 downtime with your car while you are getting your heads ported though.

if it is what your using the shop for, your in for a treat, it takes quite awile to get that damn top end off and all the tight spaces SUCK lol

if you guys need and extra hand and experience ripping a 3.8 down just let me know dude and ill see what i have going on. id be more than willing to help out though

                          Re: heads,upper and lower intake

i don't need the shop for the whole thing i just need it now because i bought a spare set of heads that still have the valves and springs in them and i need to use the valve spring compressor to get them out and then im gonna use the parts washers to clean them up a bit. I ended up talking to a guy in urbana that does a lot of work on race cars and he is going to do what he called a "competition vavle job". so i'm getting that done and the cam and rockers, springs and all that good stuff while the car sits for the winter. But yea whenever we are in the shop you can hang out or help if you want.
