how many head bolts?

I pulled the 4 in the center of the head, what else is holding this bad mammajamma on?

there are 8 bolts in each head. 4 in under the rocker arms and 4 down by the spark plugs. Also make sure wiring holder are free from the head.

I'm going to assume the ones by the spark plugs are going to be a major PITA. Do the exhaust manifolds need to be moved out of the way? I have them unbolted, but was hoping to not have to hack them up if I didn't need to.

I have headers so it was not that big of a deal to remove them. If you still have the factory manifolds I would remove them and swap in some headers while your at it.

lol, no thanks. I have headers on my LT1 Z28. No need for the v6, just need it back to running/driving condition.
