  • hows this sound?

ok so at first i was like woot i want to go full turbo in the camaro im trying to buy. then i started thinking about it and i think the wife would really notice that over a deeper exhaust note. so here is my new idea.

    camaro l36
zzp stage 2 heads, gt1 cam, stage 2 tb, gtp roller rockers, port match intake manifold to heads, pacesetter headers, 180 drilled t-stat, e-waterpump, gtp injectors and a pcm with tuner. bolted to a 5spd with a 3.42 limited slip rear.

also thought about tossing the n2o kit zzp has on it for some straitline runs. most driving will be daily/autocross.

you could just buy an ls1 and it would probably be faster stock than your car with all the mods
and a stock t-5 maxes out at like 300hp i think, so you might be cutting it close with a nos

    Abbott long tubes,homemade true duals,slp ram air,whisper lid,eibach springs,kyb shocks,BMR subframe connectors, BMR LCA reloc brackets,BMR LCAs. T-top/manual converted

Is It worth the money?? IMO
      heads ----- NO
      Cam ----- Maybe
      Tb ----- no
      rocker arms - yes
Port job -- no Hp gains are too small for the money and PITA
      Headers --- YES
Water pump-- NO, I dont think they are made for a 3800
      t-stat 180 -- No (go with hyperstat 160)
Injectors --- NO Gtp injectors are 36# I would go no more than 24# (stock=22#
Tuner ------ only if it is hptuners
      rearend ---- YES
      N2O ------- Yes but use N express

Btw It is poss. to get 200+ rwhp for less than $2000 in mods.

            Re: hows this sound?

You know, other people make stuff for us other than ZZP, lol.

Get yourself a good head/cam package from lance at abbott racing along with 4.10 gears, a little suspension, and boltons with a decent tire and you will see 13s all day long with tuning and practice.

Instead of doing rockers and a cam, just get a cam ground with more lift and skip the cost of rockers all together.

                Re: hows this sound?

what are you talking about? I only recommended 2 products from a specific company...the company that has the record for quickest n/a 3.8 V6 fbody and the company whose cam got me the best cam-only result of any 3.8 V6 fbody.

So to me, that seems like a good company to go with :)

Boltons, tire, gear, and suspension can be had from anywhere.

                :rolls eyes:

My point was that ZZP focuses on the GPs, not fbodies.

I also dont understand why you put that injectors are only necessary for certain years. He is going to need injectors.

                  Re: hows this sound?

I was just making a joke, anyway.
I think the quickest n/a v6 f-body is harry doolittle as in another thread.
Nobody really goes for a cam only record. It's like having intake only, exhaust only, elec. water pump only, rockers only, tune only, etc. Too many.
He just showed interest in ZZP which is a good company. They hold the FWD 3800 record. And v6 f-bodies seem to have the 3800 as well.
I was going to give some recommendations if he had 00-02 with multecs.

                    Re: hows this sound?

Harry doolittles car is a full-built stock eliminator race car...not a regular car that any joe could have running.

And most people do have a cam-only record, it just isnt big in the V6 fbody world...but on LS1tech it's a big deal who can get "x" times with stock heads.
