  • What's a hybrid?

I can see in to the future...

The LIM doesn't clear the timing cover, but that will soon change.

    3rd gen so i'm assuming it's a 2.8 or 3.1 block?

      Re: What's a hybrid?

3rd gen. The block is a 3.1 now, and only being used as a mock-up while I rebuild the 3.4 to go in. The top end is from a 2004 malibu 3500. The valve springs are getting traded for a set from an LS6, and 1.7 roller tip rockers in place of the stock 3500 1.6 roller fulcrum rockers. I will be using a 75mm Nothstar TB, custom forward facing headers and turbocharging it.

Here are some more pics if you like...

What's the advantage(s) of doing this "hybrid?" It looks awesome though! Very clean and shinny.

the 3.5 components add a hell of a lot more air flow. Plus newer engine = less likely to break (generally speaking of course)

About 100hp with all the other mods i'm doing (before the tubo). You would see up to 40hp, just by changing the top end.

Here are some comparison pics between the stock iron heads, stock 3400 heads, and stock 3500 heads. Notice the port loction and size, along with the splayed valves...

Slowly but surely making this a powerful engine.

Modded some '95 3100 pushrod guides to work on the 2004 3500 heads to allow for some 1.7 ratio roller tip rockers from a Ford small block...

Just found some LS6 yellow beehive springs that are going on these heads by using different locks, retainers, and seats. They will be good for almost .55" of lift, and I'm going to push them to the limit ;).

Sorry for the delay in updates, but the LIM is polished to a mirror shine inside the runners...

                            N/A - 250hp minimum, boosted - 500hp minimum. (a 3500 just made over 270hp to the wheels in a Cavilier running high 13's)

1/4 times, don't know. Really don't have the car to support it (yet) but since I build/fabricate parts this is more of a proving ground :D

Have considered becomming a sponsor here, but not too many people seem interested in the 60* engines.

                              Those would be impressive numbers

                              going twins or single?
