^ okay, well I'll give you one reason why I don't like my 3" exhaust. You, me, and meatyshells all have 5-speeds. I hate when every time I need to excelerate I need to pop it down in gears just to get to get my engine in the powerband. The low end torque is so nonexistant I shift twice as much as I did before. Up and down, up and down, through traffic. It's just way to easy to lug the engine, which is bad. I'm not looking to set records.
Drive the car in a higher RPM range. I drive around 2500RPM on average (Usually in 3rd around town, doing 45ish) unless I am on the highway. Typically I don't use 4th or 5th unless I am going over 50 and 65 respectively. I get about 20-25mpg average and I get on it alot. Engine is stock.
\'97 Camaro M5 Y87 3.23 LSD, homebrew CAI, highfloCat, Flowmaster catback, Pacesetter headers, specstage3 clutch and aluminum flywheel, !egr, 2kW system.

Possible L67 bottom end w/ abbott heads and a turbo in the works... gotta do more homework
Smoke Panther, can you please post your dyno results comparing 2.5" and 3.0" exhaust?
I don't have dyno sheets, but I do have timeslips that show 3" cars are faster than 2.5" cars....and we all know peak HP isn't what truly determines how fast a car is, right?
all I'm saying is don't get your panties in a bunch everytime somebody recommends a 2.5" exhaust
And all I'm saying is that recommending any mechanical component based on how it feels to you when there is empiracle evidence stating otherwise, is bull$hit
i still think 3'' is better overall.
it might lack in the lowend, but it makes up for it in the higher end and when i get my new rockers and springs and raise my shift point to 6500 im sure having a 3'' exhaust will pay off

ok, last post before we get back on topic.
Then quit telling people w/ manuals to get 4.10's since Lance's best 5-speed time was w/ 3:73's. "Look at the timeslips" :slap:

haha brilliant idea...by doing so you not only lower gas mileage...but your making your engine work harder for no reason, resulting in wear on the engine that just doesnt need to happen.
too much talk about moving the powerband...id go 2.5" unless you plan on doing some serious mods because that size will easily be able to give plenty of exhaust flow for stock/lightly modded engines. turbo or s/c, then its time for 3"
its up to you in the end. as far as sound goes though...ive never heard a 3", but my 2.5" sounds good.
Hello every one, ozzy here ive been looking at this page for weeks now finally joined. So my question is why is it that every turbo build forum just ends...
Just ordered some Toyo 315/35/17 tires for my 17x11 rims. Hopefully I can get them on the beginning of next year. Will post pics.
