  • Part 2 of Camaro Homepage V6 project posted.

This week, the Camaro Homepage (www.camarohomepage.com) posted Part 2 of the Tom Henry RS project car build-up.

CHpg's THRS project is a series of articles about modifying an 01 Camaro with the 3800/manual powertrain for street high-performance use.

The Internet series is based on an earlier series of articles which published in Camaro Performers magazine from late 05 to Jan. 07. for the Camaro Homepage version of the series certain areas of the project car's engine set-up have been changed. As a result, the Internet version of the series features some new content and additional imagery. Key sections of both Parts One and Two of the magazine material were rewritten for the CHpg version of the series. Other sections of content in the magazine series were deleted.

Part 2 of the Internet Series covers the entire cylinder head program along with selection and installation of the camshaft.

The magazine version of this project, especially, the the last article, Part Six, in the Jan 07 issue, was controversial on that other forum--read this thread, it's brutal but also quite entertaining.

You need to get out more because I know of many 3.8 drivers that have heads/cam, and many more will go that route without this guy's help.

Can't wait for more G-tech runs on a filthy highway, Hib

First off, when someone puts me on blast for their lack of professionalism, they will recieve no quarter from me.
I don't care what he does with his car/project...like i said, there's nothing particularly ground-breaking about a heads/cam 3800. However, when it comes to posting said results, having something more credible than a shiny G-tech goes a long way. As I've stated before in other threads, there's nothing wrong with posting just dyno numbers...those can be backed up. It's when you start guessing with your 1/4-mile time and publishing those sorry numbers that criticism will come

Ah ha now I see and agree! I read some of the thread over at FTV6, and the story got a bit deeper. I can deff understand your point against this guy. But you must understand I had no beef with the guy, just the whole time thing was absolutley retarded.

It'd be cooler if it ran well.

Seeing you follow this thread around the Internet forum circuit, it proves I can I jerk your chain just a bit, Smoke. it's amazing how pissed-off this project makes you. In fact, I've actually come to enjoy getting you excited. Spending five or ten minutes at the keyboard to get you so angry, is great sport, over an early morning cup of coffee.

                            BTW, it's a Vericom Computer not a G-Tech and...yep, we're going to do some more on-road testing.

Well...it might. We'll have to see once the Internet version gets to testing the finished product.

In the meantime, all of you get to opine, whine and flame.

The car's performance on the road was poor in the final part of the magazine version not becuase of anything wrong with the motor. It was the driver and the test venue.
