I have a 97 Camaro w/ M5. My motor has a really bad rod knock, so im going to do an engine swap, now my question is, should I stick with the 3800SII or sould I put one of those Boosted 3800 motors in there, would it line up perfectly, or would I have to change motor mounts? What about the ECU, or Braking power?

Re: Engine Swap...
its not gonna happen... it could, but you will spend way more money than you ever wanted to on customizing a bunch of things to get it working properly. From what i remember, if you swap it in, the air intake is facing the firewall
just accept defeat and turbo/supercharge your current engine for much less... or just put a cam in your new 3800 before it goes back into your car2000 Camaro 3800 A4

Re: Engine Swap...
I got the perfect motor, just needs rebuilt. Had a slight rod bearing knock. I stopped the motor immediately...hasn't run since. I also have the computer, headers, jet stage II, and the harness. Already pulled, sittin in my shop! Let me know if your interested...I got pics. 1998 3.8, 110,000 when the knock started...didn't let it go another mile...towed it an hour home.
