    over christmas i want to get my 3.8 rebuilt. my question is will changing the compression ratio to 8.5:1 dramatically affect my ability to legally pass a CA smog check?

    ahm, why do you want to lower your compression? you know you will lose power, right?

      going to supercharge it. i'm going to start with pretty low psi but i want room to grow to higher psi. i have read a lot of threads where people have pretty high boost on their stock internals but i don't want to risk the chance of blowin somthing up.
      i don't mind sacrificing a little power for reliability
